I'm not exceptionally athletic and although I can pick things up quickly, running has been one of those journey's that's been developing for over a decade.
When I was younger I used to regularly attend Bushy parkrun with my Dad, pushing myself every week, sometimes feeling good, and others sulking all the way to the end. I managed to get myself to a 22 minute 5K, a time that I only managed to beat after months and months of training again when I was 27.
When I met Amaya (my now wife) she wanted to get back into running and I did to so we did a few parkruns together and man was it tough. She was cruising along and I was struggling to go under 23 minutes. It was only in August 2024 that I was able to beat my 13 year old self and break 22 minutes with a 21:16 5K.
Ever since then I've been working towards improving my times across the 5K, 10K and Half-Marathon distances. The goal is simple - be faster than I was before.
Currently, these are my PB's below:
5K - 19:46
10K - 43:42
Half - 1:44:40
Join me in the journey to improving my running and fitness!
